Tag 97 | #srilanka🇱🇰 | Von #jaffna aus machte sich unsere #girlband, zu der wir uns in #tonysgardenhouseinn zusammen gefunden hatten, auf den Weg, die Insel #delft zu erkunden. Wir fuhren morgens um 7:30 circa 1,5 Stunden mit dem Bus nach #kurikadduwan, um von dort aus weitere 1,5 Stunden mit einer Nussschale als #ferry auf die #island überzusetzen. Zusammen mit circa 50 locals saßen wir um einen Berg von #lifevests auf dem offenen Boot und riskierten einen Sonnenstich. Es war morgens schon extrem warm und die Sonne brutzelte uns auf die Birnen. Für den Rückweg würden wir uns mehr bemühen, einen Platz im Schatten zu finden. Nicht umsonst waren viele #locals immer mit Regen- bzw. Sonnenschirm unterwegs. #smart So schipperten wir gemächlich durch das türlisblaue Wasser, in dem keine Spur der erschreckenden Menge Müll vom Vortag zu sehen war. Auf #delft angekommen wurden wir von unseren zwei #tuktukguides in Empfang genommen und es ging direkt zu einem mindestens 600 Jahre alten #baobabtree, in dessen Aushöhlung im Stamm locker drei Personen Platz finden konnten. Wir fanden einen abgemagerten #puppy und seine Mutter, gaben den beiden eine Banane zu essen und stiegen über eine mit abgestorbenen #corals bestückten Mauer ins #marshland, um die #wildhorses aus der Ferne zu sehen. Wir fuhren weiter in einen Wald, in dem eine spezielle Art von Bäumen wuchs, die sich um Palmen herum rankend ihren Weg nach oben Bahnen und von dort wiederum Äste nach unten wachsen lassen, die am Boden neue Wurzeln schlagen. Anschließend kamen wir an einem #growingstone und einigen Ruinen vorbei. Letztere waren auch teilweise mit #deadcorals gebaut. Das war nicht nur praktisch, sondern sieht auch noch nett aus. Dort fütterte ich meine restlichen #bananas an einen anderen sehr bedauernswerten Straßenhund. Nach einem Abstecher zum Strand fuhren wir zu unserem #guide nach Hause, wo uns seine Mutter ein fantastisches #riceandcurry vorbereitet hatte. Ein Gaumenschmaus. Nach etwa 3,5 Stunden auf #delft fuhr die Fähre auch schon wieder zurück von wo aus wir wieder im Gang gequetscht stehend zurück nach Jaffna fuhren. Viel Hin und her für ein paar #islandvibes auf unserer kleinen Klassenfahrt.
