Pierce strutted around the ring like he owned the place. Day 3 started a bit rough though... I went for the daily coffee run and ended up spilling my drink all over me. Thankfully I was wearing a sweater since it was a little chilly and was able to get it off before it soaked through to my show shirt. By the time I was back my dad had already tacked Pierce for me. "You know I can tack by myself right." I said sarcastically, "You don't know how to properly get a horse clean though." He spat back, "Sure..." I said rolling my eyes. I handed him his coffee and headed to the ring to give Anna her drink and check the ring status. It was a pretty slow day so I didn't end up showing till late in the day. Pierce warmed up like an angel although I couldn't find a distance to save my life. Our round didn't reflect our warm-up thankfully. Pierce bossed around the ring not batting an eye at anything and helped me with all the distances. She was repeating her course every two minutes, much to the dismay of Grace, who had come along to watch. Sadie listened as her name was called to enter the ring. Sunny was an incredible pony, calm, quiet, and does whatever you ask. They went up to the first jump and the gelding leaped over it, picking a good pace for the round. The next line came up smooth. She pushed him out into the next turn to give time to see the distance to the next jump, which came up nicely. The round ended with another line which went well. Sadie was almost in tears by the closing circle, the excitement and nerves from the past days finally over. She put down a great round, and that’s all she wanted from her first Pony Finals. . . . My friend Anna had some ponies looking for catch rides and I just couldn't resist. Praline Sweet aka Pierce caught my eye and here we are. Although my sister got sick last minute and couldn't come, I still bugged my father to tag along. "You know how much I hate this." He groaned. "You love ponies! They totally aren't devil spawns." I chuckled, "I hope this Pierce pony is nice." I went up and met Pierce a couple days ago to just get to know him but my father hadn't met him yet as Blue Acre EC had to bring some other ponies up as well. - After a rather short drive to Moorland from Fort Pinta I checked the status of the rings and headed to the barns to find where Anna was. I reached the Blue Acre EC isle of stables but didn't see Anna. I assumed she was out with another pony. I found Pierce's stall and said my hellos to him and looked at how clean he was. "The crew here must've bathed all these ponies earlier." I said to my father, he was walking slowly down the isle inspecting every pony. "Yeah they all seem pretty clean... look at this guy!" He exclaimed to me. I rushed over as my father didn't get excited over much. "Oh my god isn't he just a cutie." The pony's name plate read 'Go Bananas' and below it said 'Java'. "Thats such a cute name." We wandered off to find the show office and grab my number. By the time we got back to the stalls Anna had returned to the aisle running around. "Hey Anna!" She stopped in her tracks, "Thank goodness, I thought you weren't here yet." She walked up to us and shook my dad's hand, then led me to the tack stall and showed me all of Pierce's tack. She told me to go get dressed so we could be 100% ready before they even start calling for the class. I threw on all my clothes and skipped back to the aisle in excitement. My dad, like always, was a clean freak and had Pierce on the cross-ties with a brush in one hand and show sheen in the other. "He's pretty handy to have at shows." Anna said standing next to me. "He says he hates them though." I shrugged my C.I.C

UJEF PONY FINALS Presented by Jorvik West Horse Show 📍 Trinity Hill Farms, Moorland (BGs provided) - JWHS is excited to represent and host Pony Finals 2023! Pony finals is a prestigious opportunity for young riders and their ponies to compete against top opponents their age. This is an inclusive event and you DO NOT NEED TO QUALIFY! Simply enter with the link in our bio. Judging: The competition will have 4 judges working together to place entries (Alternate judges will be brought in for tie breaks). A pointing system will be applied, and each post will receive a point score on request. Each Height Group will be judged seperatly, then an overall judging will take place (Ribboning up to 20), overall Grand Champions + Reserves will be awarded for the hunter and equitation divisions. Each post will receive at least 2 placing results. Judging will partly be based on correct horse position (for hunters) and correct rider position (for equitation). We reccomend selecting a reference/angle that is able to showcase those components. Rules: Rule breaks are not subject to elimination, but points may be docked to the judges discretion. - Traditional Show Attire required (Specs. in our rulebook in our bio) - Post must: include rider’s name, ponies’s show name, ponie’s height group, class hashtag, and overall hashtag (Please tag us to ensure we see it as well) - No Fails/Falls - All classes will be hunter style, and jumps/decor are expected to be as such.
