I can’t express how excited I am to be going back to the Texas Country Music Awards this weekend in Fort Worth, this time with my client Trey Calloway! Last year I went with McBride & The Ride and it was one for the books - the band performed their biggest hits, Terry was awarded with the TCMA Trailblazer Award, and he got to re-sign his name on the bands spot on the green room wall at Billy Bob’s! His original signature had faded since the couple times they sold out the legendary Honky Tonk back in 1991 🥹 Trey was awarded with Country Song of the Year for 2023 and will be receiving the award and performing the song on the iconic stage! Trey Calloway, a Carolina-bred, Nashville-based Country artist and I have been working together for just shy of a year now, so I wanted to take some time to formally introduce him as an artist on the VNTG PR roster! When we first began working together, the initial goal was to clean up Trey’s social media accounts, fall into a consistent schedule with posting, and start to focus on branding and how we would promote shows, execute single release campaigns, and increase engagement. As he started to release singles throughout the winter and spring, I began assisting through playlisting campaigns as well, particularly on Spotify. Several of his songs began to gain momentum, with his cumulative streaming count quickly rising to over 150,000 over the last several months and his monthly listener count jumping to over 35,000. One song in particular, “When You Walk In”, has begun averaging around 1,400 streams per day and has easily become his fastest growing single. It’s been such a pleasure getting to know and work with Trey this year; he’s an incredible writer, performer, and one of the hardest working artists I’ve had the chance to work with. In January of ’23 I brought on a Florida-based Bruce Springsteen tribute act called The Boss Project to the client roster after having working with them on various projects throughout the last couple years. An incredibly talented group of musicians, they joined VNTG PR with under 8,000 cumulative followers on Facebook and Instagram and I was tasked with managing their social media presence and online branding. Thanks largely in part to showcasing their live chemistry and ability to capture the magic of The Boss’ biggest hits as well as featuring Bruce Springsteen content from different points throughout his career (interviews, live performances, etc.), I’ve managed to grow their Instagram and Facebook followings to over 25,000 cumulatively, as well as grow their Reels view count from the low hundreds into the millions, with several Reels reaching a million or more views on Facebook and Instagram. They’ve also reached over 1.2M unique Instagram accounts in the last 30 days, something I’ve only done other time to date with another VNTG PR client, Johnny Lee. March was one hell of a month for the Urban Cowboy! Over the course of 28 days, Johnny Lee’s Instagram account reached over 2.5 million unique accounts, jumped from just under 18,000 to over 48,000 followers, and saw it’s cumulative Instagram Reel views go from 2.5 million to over 6.5 million!
