👗 Walk in closet 👗 👚 👖 Det började med "älskling, vi måste gå igenom vår garderob, och sortera ut kläder som är trasiga eller fel storlek" det slutade med att jag fick spunk och drog ut den platsbyggda hyllan, ställde in två smalare hyllor, återbrukade en del av den gamla platsbyggda hyllan att hänga väskor på, och la in en stor luden matta för att hålla fötterna varma. The tour continues for this Master suite project! Our client went light and bright for her new space. Before the renovation the master bedroom didn't have a closet or bathroom or lighting. In fact, it only had two electrical plugs. 💡🥳 While the French doors were nice the space was utilized poorly (plus there was no glass above so it was not exactly private!). 8/12/19. Sooo, abt the floor... all and all it turned out well enough, however, instead of looking professionally refinished by a company it came out like a handyman special- and while the work was done quickly, the amount of things that have to get redone and cleaned up will take longer than if Steven and his company had done it themselves. Swipe to the end to see the laundry list of damages -beyond doing the ultra shine finish... there damaged trim, drywall, a damaged garage door, globs of poly, poly on the walls, stain all over the risers and balusters, a broken baluster, damaged trim (doorway corners are deeply dented and then the new trim that had the 2x4 thrown on it). Sloppy, lazy, shitty work. Thankfully everything is fixable, but we have to get all new balusters, redo the bannister (note the rough finish and SEALED IN PAINT 😡), the stair treads will be stripped and repainted, the trim and walls touched up. 8/11/19. This was my first chance to get over to see the progress - yesterday the first coat of poly went down and today it’s dry enough to walk on in socks. The stair color is a bit different than anticipated - I had hoped to go darker (closer to the bannister color) to hide the fact that it won’t be the same type of wood as the new floors - but the color is almost identical to the new floors so 🤞 it’ll look good! The upstairs is a little bit darker than I would have chosen, (lighter stains can minimize the grain of oak) but thankfully it has a bit of life to it and it’s not too brown. Tomorrow the flooring guys will be back to lightly sand the first coat of poly, put on the second, clean up and the upstairs will be almost done!!! 8/9/19. It’s killing me that I was away when this was getting done and couldn’t be there!! The floor guys were incredibly quick and sanded the entire upper floor and stairs AAAAND got the stain down in one day!!! They did scuff the trim a bit and we’re a bit disappointed that they broke a baluster, but it’s amazing to see the difference of a uniform color vs the worn discolored mishmash it was before. 7/16-17/19. And the master is painted! It was definitely a struggle to decide on a color for this room - I was leaning toward just using the agreeable grey to keep it neutral, especially since this room isn’t really seen from the hall (which is also agreeable grey). Steven wanted the master to be ‘different’ and decided to use the ag in the guest room... (aka the main room you see from the hall 😒 - I haaate the lack of contrast - swipe to the end to see). Steven and I went back and forth about color vs no color and ultimately decided on Sherwin Williams repose grey. Overall I really like how it turned out. The color is not ‘too grey’ and I think it will be fairly easy to mix and match accents. 4/7/19. Hello new exhaust fan! I’m glad I was able to choose the location for this bc the initial spot would have been much more visible from the bedroom and be in the same sightline as the (🤞) chandelier. Instead now the fan is positioned right as you walk into the room so it’s nearly invisible. Plus it’s right across from the shower so hopefully that’ll help it work more efficiently. 3/31/19. Ok, squint very hard you’ll see the upside down bench as a tub, shop vac as a toilet and those box fans as a vanity!!! The tub is a little bit tight, but we’re going to go with a compact one - most likely the one in the AR (which I gave up on trying to place in the room 🙈) and a round/compact style toilet. Leaning towards the lighter grey vs the washed grey cabinet for the vanity - but let me know what you think! The elongated marble look subway will be used for the shower and it will have a real marble mosaic in the back wall... just need to figure out which one.
