Our cover watch, the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen CARBO2 Limited Edition 1969 is inspired by the 0 Oxygen and Iced Sea dials concepts, and now features a new, innovative composite material called CARBO2, created by capturing CO2 from biogas production and mineral waste generated by recycling factories, through a calcium dissolution and carbonation process. “Only Montblanc is doing CARBO2, and it is specific only to us in the watchmaking,” says Laurent Lecamp, Managing Director, Watch Division, Montblanc. The 43.5mm timepiece features an engraved luminous blue outline of the Mont Blanc on the side of the case, glowing white by day and blue by night, inspired by the nature of the glaciers. Turning the watch reveals a real-to-life 3D laser colour engraving of the Mont Blanc mountain.
