In the reception of Montagu Evans’ workspace we designed a bespoke display wall to house objects and items that talk about the partnership in a curated and engaging way. Each opening provides an opportunity for the business to communicate something about who they are and what they believe in. As we designed Tate & Lyle's new HQ, we embraced this artistic legacy by featuring emerging artists' work throughout the space. Rose Court features a spiral staircase that leads to the roof terrace from a sunken courtyard, mirroring the footprint of the historic Rose Playhouse.
BDG retained Rose Court's concrete frame - minimising waste and maximising value. This sustainable overhaul supports WPP's goal of net zero carbon in their own emissions by 2025.
Rose Court was a 1980s government building, now revitalised into a creative hub and cornerstone campus for WPP on London’s iconic Southbank.

Communication is one of a creative business’s most important tools. Technology has come a long way in enabling us to connect and communicate with one another, but (so far) nothing beats face-to-face time. The adoption of ‘hybrid’ means that closing the gap between physical and virtual remains one of the biggest challenges we face. More seamless integration between the two is something that the industry as a whole is developing, but necessity is the mother of invention so we believe it won’t be too long before new technologies enhance cross collaboration and provide a more equitable experience for all. #wearebdg #wedesignforchange

Reflecting on Energy Saving Week, we wanted to think about hybrid workstyles and how we can all be energy conscious working both at home and in the office. In the BDG studio all our fittings are low energy, sensor controlled and our supply is from renewables. Site challenges can often lead to more thoughtful and informed design decisions. With alarming news from COP27 that global decarbonisation declined just 0.5% over the past 12 months, far off the target of 15.2% needed to keep climate change to 1.5 degrees Celsius, it’s another reminder that it’s never been more important to reduce and re-use our valuable resources. At BDG we’ve been retrofitting and revitalising redundant buildings for decades, and integration of ESG throughout the design & construction process is paramount to environmentally and economically sustainable projects, built for longevity and adaptability. Our recently completed WPP Rose Court Campus in London completely reuses it’s 1980s concrete structure, saving a whopping 65% in embodied carbon. New landscape and biodiversity has been added at street and roof level, along with renewable energy production and an array of sensors to monitor everything from energy use to daily building use and occupancy. #wearebdg #wedesignforchange
