This is a shout-out to all the dog walkers, dog carers and dog shelter volunteers out there, especially those of you I’m lucky enough to count as friends. Working with dogs is unbelievably rewarding and may look like fun on Instagram, but I know how relentless it can be, how hard you work in all weathers, how you put the comfort and wellbeing of your canine charges before your own, how deep you will have had to dig to get through the busy Christmas period when everyone else was relaxing, and how depleted you most likely feel now. Here’s to the arrival of spring and - who knows - maybe even a holiday or two! A particularly big, personal thank you to @dog_jiujitsu and @alessiaquaradeghini, without whom my life - and the life of all the dogs we have the privilege of looking after - would be impoverished and without whom this business simply would not function with the smoothness and joy that it does.
