I left Pacasmayo & head south via route 3N. Ride hari ni ada senang & ada susah. Yg senang sbb aku amik PanAm highway. So most of the time the road is paved. Yg susah sbb bila lalu highway, kena libas dgn angin. More challenging sbb cuaca panas kering kerana aku kini merentasi Sechura Desert. Mencabar minda jgk la nak ride dlm time2 mcm ni. Temperature plk 45'C. Dah la no view to enjoy plk tu. Tiang letrik jer bersusun plus sampah-sarap di tepi jln. The latter really amazed me. Dari GDR1 dulu smpi skrg, tiada kesedaran sivik nmpknya dlm klgn locals. Sepjg2 tepi highway jadi tpt pelupusan sampah. The amount of trash is unbelievable, especially for a major highway 😥😥 Smpi Trujillo, aku divert masuk jln dlm. Jln start jahanam for about 6km. Very potholey. Hajat hati nak visit Chan Chan, a famous UNESCO world heritage site. Tpt ni aku miss masa GDR1 dulu, so this time nak tebus balik la. However the archeological site covers a hugeeee area. In this heat & temperature? Aku blh pengsan nti. Wrong timing aku dtg sini 😅 Aku teruskan perjalanan ke Chimbote. After days of rough & super narrow roads, surprisingly hari ni aku dapat jalan elok sungguh. Ishh rasa macam tak percaya plk 😅 Aku tinggalkan Celendin dan ride on route 8B heading south west. Aku masih lagi di pergunungan Andes tapi dah keluar dari region Amazonas. Terkejut betul sebab wlu pun jln still curvy with hairpin bends tapi sizenya lebar & langsung tak ada walau sebiji pun lubang. Until about 8kms to reach my destination baru la aku jumpa pot hole yg pertama. After that, biasa la bila masuk town mmg jalan akan jahanam. Anyway I enjoyed the santai ride to Cajamarca. Jalan, cuaca & view semua gemilang. Alhamdulillah 🤲 However mcm biasa, klu tak ada cabaran, bukanlah adventure namanya, kan? Cabaran kali ini adalah aku tak perasan yg my navigating phone not charging. Perhaps due to the rough ride the previous days. Tau2 phone kong jer. Satu hal nak kena stop skjp & caj phone dulu 😁 Cabaran kedua nak cari accommodation. My experience during #GDR1 dulu, accommodation kat Peru consider murah. However skrg susah dah nak cari bilik murah especially di bandar2 popular. Cajamarca ni pulak mmg tempat pelancongan popular. Berpusing2 jgk from one guesthse to another, finally dapat juga yg bersesuaian dgn kriteria & bajet. Kriteria paling utama adalah safe parking, free wifi & clean. Yg lain2 aku tak cerewet. My ride around Ipoh, Perak 🔃
Honestly tak pernah terlintas aku akan berada di region yg remote kat Amazonas ni on my bike. Before deciding to be here, aku fikir beratus kali. Boleh ke? Mampu Ke? Berani ke? Lagi2 plk sebab time ni musim hujan yg biasanya disaster. Mengenangkan this could be my only chance, I decided to give it a try. For my onward journey south via route 8B, I was advised to be very careful bcos the road at certain parts is super narrow, and can only fit one car. Betul la apa yg diperkatakan. Not only its super narrow but there are lots of broken sections & lots of 'drains' filled with water. However, the road is very quiet. Boleh la ride sambil layan view & throwback memories apa yg aku dah tempuh selama ini. 120km later, I reached Leimebamba. Puasa2 ni ride sket2 jer dah la. Aku decide utk bermlm kat sini sbb nak spend time visit mummy museum dedicated to the Cloud People kat tpt ni. The museum entrance fee is 30 Soles (RM45). Most of the exhibition is in Spanish tp nasib aku baik sbb dpt bersembang dgn sorang local kat situ yg blh berbahasa Inggeris. Melopong jgk la bila dimaklumkan yg rupa2nya Cloud People ni sikit pun tak ada rupa mcm org Inca. Sebaliknya mereka kulit cerah, rambut blonde & cantik2. As a matter of fact, they looked like Europeans. These facts puzzled the scientists, as there is no evidence of previous European genes present in this area before the Cloud People. Then how come rupa diaorg mcm org putih? 🤔 Cloud People yg pegang jwtn penting bila mati jasadnya di mummifiedkan & diletak dlm sarcophagus (yg aku share dlm post sblm ni). Kat muzium Leimebamba yg aku visit ni ada 200 mummies. Some of it dah dibuka balutannya, some are not. The mummies are so well preserved that many have most of their facial features intact. I've seen Egyptian & Roman mummies before but I’m not sure there’s anywhere else in the world you can stare at a 500 year old mummy right in the eyes (tgk gbr last) Urghhhh, menyesal plk tgk. After 2 nights at Olmos, I headed east. The view got interesting as I made my way on the hairpin bends & curvy road into the heart of the Andes mountain range. Low clouds, gunung bertukar2 warna from green to blue to brown to orangish, semuanya nampak cantik sangat. Byk kali aku stop for pics. Bila nak sampai ni weiii, skjp2 berenti, skjp2 berenti 🤣🤣 After riding half way, I started to feel the wind. Byk area with fallen rocks so bila angin kuat, aku mula risau takut batu2 bergolek dari atas. Sejenak terdetik di fikiran, klu kat Msia, pernah ke asal hujan jer, asal berangin jer, kita cemas? Tak der, kan? Kita buat tak tau jer. Klu hujan disertai angin ribut baru la rasa takut tu dtg. Tapi kat sini? Hujan sikit, angin sikit, bersiap-siaga lah kau. Ride hari ni turut menyusuri Rio Maranon yg beraliran deras & keruh airnya. Most prolly due to the wet season now. The road improved bila dah turun dari jln gunung, but still ada some broken sections. I need to ride with caution utk elak batu2 yg bertaburan. Kambing & keldai pun berkongsi jalan juga, so sama2 la share jalan ya. However yg paling best adalah bila aku lalu sawah padi. Cantiknya laa haiii (tgk gbr). Bercinta betul nak teruskan perjalanan. Badan penat tapi sebab plan lari due to kena sidai kat border hari tu, nak tak nak kena la proceed. Skrg musim hujan kat region ni. Merata2 lecah & landslide. Bumps pun byk, sometimes bertanda, sometimes not. So kena hati2 ride. Ditambah plk dgn tuk2, the king of the road yg bermaharajalela atas jln. Lagi la kena bukak mata besar. Theres one time cemas aku tak eksiden dgn tuk2 ni. Main masuk jer #@#@ 😓 Kat Tambo Grande Google Maps halakan aku ke jln dlm utk shortcut. So kena la main lumpur sikit. Best jgk (sbb tak tergolek) 🤣🤣 Back road kat Peru ni biasanya very narrow & at certain parts, jln sengaja dimendapkan which acts as a 'drain' utk alirkan air hujan dari sblh kanan ke kiri (or vice versa). Disebabkan skrg kerap hujan, 'drain' tu mmg sentiasa bertakung air, antara sikit dgn byk jer. Rugi aku ride solo, tak der org nak tlg amikkan gbr @ video aku redah air tu 😅 Ride hari ni byk kali juga aku kena deviate ke offroad sbb road works. Sekali tu, deviation uphill & slightly muddy. Yg ni aku cuak. Mulut terkumat-kamit baca mentera semerah padi, hoping that aku tak tergolek. Nasib baik lepas 😅😁😁 After 200km, I decided to stop. FZ V3 150 cc Blog Part 1/3... So finally added the FZ 150 V3 after a extensive hunt and choosing one out of the so many available options in different segments and types. So in this blog will write about my Need, followed by options considered in 2nd Blog and conclude in final blog with the performance blog. So my primary need was commuting to my office and trust me its too much of distance around 80 KMs everyday and it comprimises of Dense traffic, Highways, Highspeed corners, Bad patches, Rough road, Gravels, Potholes, Uneven road and everything you can imagine on a Mumbai road. My basic requirement from the 2 Wheeler was Comfort, Fuel efficiency, safety, Looks and bit of driving pleasure. I wanted everything in a reasonable budget too. I was open for both Scooters & Bikes and to be honest i was more inclined towards scooters given the fact for definite advantage of boot space and non gear comfort. So my test rides started with Yamaha Scooty Ray ZR which i liked the most and i have even finalised it upto a extent. Its a good scooter and was fulfilling all my needs. I even considered a Burgaman, Ather electric and Yamaha Aerox. By this time my commute started to the new office and for this i was using a 2015 Yamaha Fascino ( Bike Credit my friend Vatan Singh). Slowly i started realizing that i am getting back and body pain within 20 days of my travel. And leaving all the comfort of the Mopeds i decided it has to be a bike and not scooter for the type of roads i will be travelling. It was a harsh decesion as it comes at the cost of Traffic comfort and boot space( Always handy to keep helmets, Tiffin etc) So from here the journey started to search for the Bike which will suit my requirements in best possible manner. After 2 nights, I left Salento. Ada dua pilihan jalan menuju ke selatan: 1. Via Cali - Popayan - Pasto 2. Via Neiva - Pitalito - Mocoa Kedua2 option ni runs parallel antara satu sama lain tapi dipisahkan oleh beberapa national parks in between. Option #1 adalah route yg aku dah lalu masa #GDR1. Route ni mmg cantik tp bermasalah sbb locals suka-suki rentang tali tgh jln & tahan kenderaan utk paw duit. Memandangkan aku ni acah2 explorer maka this time aku nak try option #2. Aku nak tgk adakah route ni secantik option #1. Lepas town Calarca, jln mula mendaki & twisties kerana merentasi kwsn pergunungan. Unlike the previous days which I will be stressful bila lalu jln gunung yg jahanam & byk lori, this time aku dpt highway dual lane yg lebar & in a very good condition. Traffic pun tak byk. Sesuai klu nak melefer 😁😁 Highway ni ada byk tunnels & jambatan pjg2 yg tinggi. At times I felt like riding Mohan - Mengla (China). Serupa jer vibe dia. Tunnel paling pjg kat sini 8.7km & well lighted. Keluar tunnel nmpk view cantik, tp x dibenarkan berenti amik gbr. Pastu masuk tunnel lain plk. Begitu la berulang kali. Bila highway habis, masuk balik jln biasa & hadap la jln jahanam 😅 Kat town Cajamarca, jem pjg berkilo2meter. Mula2 aku sabar menanti, tp bila tgk motor2 lain semua potong que, dgn aku pun join sekali. Seram jgk masa overtake sbb jln sempit. Bila kepala lori muncul di sebalik blind spot opposite direction, menggelabah aku menyelit kat celah2 kenderaan yg tgh jem. Korang yg biasa buat mcm ni kat jln Cameron Highland time weekend sure blh relate 🤣🤣🤣 Suhu meningkat dgn mendadak lepas aku turun dari kwsn pergunungan ke low land. From 10'C kat Salento, now dah 40'C. Rasa nak demam bila temperature berubah2 mcm ni. Due to that, aku terpaksa kensel plan asal utk visit Tatacoa Desert, especially bcos there is an offroad stretch (soft sands) which Google Maps said will take 2 hours to reach. My destination today is Medellin. Dulu masa GDR1 aku dah pernah smpi sini. At that time ada tpt yg aku nak sgt pergi tapi tak dpt. Siapa yg dah baca buku GDR Siri 3 sure tau apa hajat aku yg tak kesampaian tu. So now its time to tick the wish list 😍 Lagi 25km nak smpi Medellin, Google Maps hala aku ke tunnel. Aku tak tau plk ada tunnel. Rupa2nya motorbikes are prohibited from entering that tunnel. Alamak, mcm mana nak buat ni? Medellin is a big city with more than 4 million population and this city is well known for its super steep roads 😫😫 Tgh dok belek2 peta kat tepi jalan sambil doa spy Allah bagi petunjuk, tetiba sorang biker berhenti & tanya aku if I need help. Dia boleh ckp English plk tu. Allahuuu.... betul2 Dia hantar bantuan tepat pada masanya!!! 🤲🤲 His name is Yeiner & dia pun menuju ke Medellin. So dia suruh aku follow dia & alhamdulillah aku selamat smpi ke bandar kedua terbesar di Colombia ni. Urusan pertama aku kat sini adalah pergi ke Incolmotos Yamaha Medellin utk tukar tayar depan GD. Dulu masa GDR1, Incolmotos Yamaha Colombia ada bagi support kat aku (via Hong Leong Yamaha Motor & Yamaha Japan). This time, aku urus sendiri & alhamdulillah thru Mr Alejandro, Incolmotos agree to gv me support again. I thought that they will only waive the labour fee but I was sooo blessed that the front tire was given FOC. Nak tau GD dapat tayar apa? Tgk gbr 😍😍 Not just that, side mirror yang pecah hari tu pun diaorg tukar baru. They also changed the rear brake pad, cleaned the chain, serviced the air filter & did a general inspection on the bike. ALL FOR FREE. (Tgk pic #2). Lepas klip pintu gerbang ni diikuti dgn flamingos & zebras berlari2. Kalau nak tau, itu la entrance HACIENDA NAPOLES, iaitu ranch seluas 20km² yg dimiliki oleh drug baron Pablo Escobar. He was not even 30 years old when he bought the ranch in 1978 which at that time worth USD63 million. Kat ranch ni letaknya villa Pablo, zoo yg ada exotic animals termasuk hippos, runaway kapalterbang yg dimiliki oleh beliau, koleksi kereta2 mewahnya & juga helikopter. After his death in 1993, gomen Colombia rampas semua harta & aset beliau termasuk la Hacienda Napoles ni. Pada tahun 2014, Hacienda Napoles ditransform menjadi theme park ala2 Jurassic Park. Aku dtg sini sebab nak posing kat pintu gerbang yg ada kapalterbang tu jer. Unfortunately I didnt know that last year the theme park management alihkan pintu gerbang dgn kapal terbang tu ke sebelah dalam. Nak masuk kena byr RM70. Kat kaunter tiket, aku terpandang latest pic pintu gerbang tu (yg diletakkan bersebelahan dgn Memorial Pablo Escobar). The latest environment dah tak nmpk real mcm asal. Terus aku kensel tak jadi masuk 😅😅 Tak per la, bergambar kat pintu gerbang ni pun jadi la.
