Been thinking about this one since being captivated by this view from the bedroom window back at the end of February and now finally painted and finished… a torrent of lime green catkins and set behind the burgeoning buds of the good old Magnolia…. ‘Popping all the corks…. Pop, glug,fizz… ‘ seems to describe the effervescence of what’s going on at the moment outside… even in this cold weather it seems to be slowly getting it going…. 💚 ‘Oak -Kin Fleurette’ For the last week of so the tiniest tips of the Oaks have been blowing down on the lane is the zingiest fluo lime colours… like miniature dayglo trees dancing around with their tassel catkin boas…. Turns out that the green tassel catkins swinging around are the male Oak flowers and the female Oak flowers are the smaller reddish ones…. Just love them!✨💚. 💚 «Oak -Kin Fleurette» Au cours de la dernière semaine, les plus petites pointes des chênes ont soufflé sur l’allée avec les couleurs fluo lime les plus piquantes… comme des arbres dayglo miniatures dansant avec leurs boas chatons à pampilles…. Il s’avère que les chatons verts qui se balancent sont les fleurs mâles du chêne et que les fleurs femelles du chêne sont les plus petites rougeâtres…. 🤍💚🖤Breathless from Bud to Bloom’ or ‘A Bout de Soufflé’ at last and this time a diptych of a Camelia from Bud to bloom which this year after months of buds has been a breathless rush to full on bloom. A Camellia to me is always a bit of a classy bloom simple in shape yet complex with a plethora of layers of petals, with echos of Chanel , Chloe and other Parisian fashion houses so here they are being a drama queen! 🤍💚🖤À bout de souffle » ou « A Bout de Soufflé »… enfin terminé et cette fois-ci un diptyque d’un Camélia du bourgeon à la floraison qui cette année après des mois de bourgeons a été une course haletante vers la pleine floraison. What I’m working on this week!…. ( I will return to moss and lichen again soon..) but for now,as is my way it’s a large Camellia diptych coming into bloom…. Following what’s happening outside right now! Panels measure 1M x about 64cm…. After a couple of days drawing it’s time to bring it to life!!!✨🤍💚🖤. Ce sur quoi je travaille cette semaine !….
