*Zebra Dove* (Geopelia striata)
Known for their soft, pleasant cooing calls "kuuu kuuu", they are popular as pets. Cooing competitions are even held in search of the bird with the best voice (Singapore just had one in June)! Not to be confused with the Spotted Dove, the Zebra Dove has black bars on its hindneck, while the former has spots instead. As part of the dove family, Zebra doves are one of the only few birds that are able to produce nutritious crop milk for their young!
