The castle was built in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. In 1620, Tokugawa started to rebuild Osaka Castle and took 9 years to complete it. Twice it had been destroyed by fire. First during the Battle of Osaka in 1645. And the other incident was during World War II. .
