Modern African design is just killing for me it rn. There’s such a sense of place, of being grounded in the location. I’ve been thinking a lot about how our spaces/homes should reflect our culture, our people and the history of the surroundings. It seems to me that’s how HOME should feel. Rooted, grounded, connected - not only to us, but to where we come from, where we’ve been and how it shapes us. Similar to the terrain around us - always changing, evolving, and yet retaining a very clear sense of that solid core that makes each place, each person unique. Travel, for me, is one of my homes. I find home everywhere and want to share that possibility with you. I’m so honored and privileged to soak in and be inspired by the textures, use of natural and local materials and the creativity with which these designers and artists are using their resources. I’m all freaked out, soaking it in - ready to bring some home! xoy✨
