It is the Autumn Equinox, also known as Mabon here in the Northern Hemisphere. The second of the three harvests, we use this time to prepare food stores for the upcoming winter months. The trees begin to show us those lovely fall colors, the days become shorter and get darker faster and the temperatures begin to cool. Use this time to celebrate great changes and give thanks for the abundance of the harvest. Spells should focus on protecting the home. Rituals should include oak or acorns, apples, corn dolls, grapevines or stags as symbols.⠀

For Mabon, celebrate with foods that honor the hearth and harvest—breads and grains, autumn veggies like squash and onions, fruits, and wine. I recommend Apple cider or juice if you cannot consume alcohol.⠀
