40 glacier, also known as the tso gyan glacier, is located at an altitude of 5,300 meters near the border between nangkaz county in xizang's shannan region and Bhutan. It got its name from border pillar 40, which borders China and Bhutan. It is one of the most accessible land mountain glaciers ever found.
