Standing on a giant Yesterday I hiked on top of Breiðarmerkurjökull. If you've been to the glacier lagoon (Jökulsárlón) this is the glacier tongue that provides that lagoon with all of its enormous icebergs, which perpetually break from off its tip and tumble into the waters. What a day to be alive. This was just the most epic thing to do with my fab friend @this_is_iga who's a guide there with @ice.explorers.is and made this happen for me 🤍 Most of these are phone pics, the good stuff comes later! Nanda Devi as seen from Auli, Uttarakhand. In the previous photo I posted Mount Nanda Devi as seen from Gurson Bugyal trek (roughly around 3300 m above sea level) whereas this photo is taken from few 100 meters before Auli which is roughly 2800 m above sea level. I was looking at the peak which is 7818 m from an altitude of around 2800 m which means the mountain peak is 5000 m higher than where I was standing. 2800 in itself is some serious altitude and add another 5 Kilometers in vertical height to it and that's Nanda Devi peak for you.
