Can you spot the real one?
Amongst the two-dimensional illustrations of some of its relatives there's here a beautiful real fossil of Elrathia kingii, a Cambrian trilobite from the Wheeler Formation, North America. This is one of the most ubiquitous and recognizable trilobites.
According to Gaines & Droser (2003) this particular species was adapted to low oxygen environments, possibly living in symbiosis with sulfur bacteria. These kinds of environment may have facilitated the preservation of a high number of articulated specimens.
Big thanks to @izzofra01 for such a beautiful gift.
