Let me tells you a true rags to riches story.
2 years ago, Lindsey and I had been talking about getting a puppy.
Dogs were a big part of my childhood so I was open to the idea.
But, in transparency, I also didn’t want to have the “distraction” from other personal goals I had set for myself.
Then, we saw our friends at @thepawerfulrescue share a photo of this guy who they had rescued.
Alfie was his name.
He had been found on the streets as a puppy and was terribly sick.
They had restored him to health and needed someone to foster him.
Inviting another soul into our house, especially living so far away from family made it feel like home.
He’s traveled all over the country with us and been a companion on runs.
Today we brought him for his first official 10k and he CRUSHED IT with a 9:49 min/mile pace.
He is quite literally, the fastest dog alive.
Not only did he brighten our day, but he did the same for every runner he came up to on the trail.
Today’s a good day ❤️
