Stress➡️Anxiety➡️Depression<br />.<br />.<br />Dealing with this time can be difficult. As a new mom, full time working mom and wife, I feel like I have so many shoes to fill without any help! So here’s what has helped.<br />.<br />🗣First, set boundaries. Don’t let anyone tell you that your being negative or a Debby downer. It’s okay to feel down. In fact it’s important to identify how your feeling and be in acceptance with your feelings. This just means your going through the stages of grief. .<br />🗣Sleep 😴 Get 4-6 hours of consecutive sleep. This one’s a tough one for all my ladies in their last trimester or postpartum ladies. Sleeping when your baby sleeps helps.<br />.<br />🗣Let go of perfectionism. For me, it meant coming to peace with feeding my little one formula vs. 💯 breastmilk. Be graceful with yourself.<br />.<br />🗣Develop a routine. Stick to it. .<br />🗣Develop a workspace that’s only for work.<br />.<br />.<br />🗣Embed transition time in your schedule- this means, after completing your task, change environments, this could mean walking downstairs, leaving your apartment, going for a car ride ( I gained this coping strategy from one of patients).<br />.<br />.<br />I’ve really tried to invite mental health professionals for our VIrtual @chaitalkpro meetups for last month and this month because I feel like we are all navigating uncharted waters and it’s important to have the right tools from the pros to stay afloat and make it ashore.
