Yesterday we thought we’d explore a little of the Celtic Way footpath by walking from St Germans to Looe. The Celtic Way is a new long distance walking route that follows joins churches from St Germans to Penzance. Our leg to Looe was a pleasant mixture of country lanes, footpaths and coast path. The sea was a little too choppy for swimming in, but on another day I would have done, as there were a number of little coves suitable for a dip. We stopped at one of our favourite places, the Beach House in Seaton, for tea and cakes.
The Celtic Way goes via Downderry to take in the church there, and had we followed it exactly would have been about ten miles. We took a short cut and headed straight to Seaton, which reduced our distance by a couple of miles. We then had the pleasure of taking the train home; views from the Looe Valley line are second to none at this time. We saw a little egret, as well as many other birds along the river.
