Those cravings can be hard to overcome when you’re trying to stick to your diet. <br /><br />Here are some tips to help you curb those cravings! <br />🔸 Don’t cut it out completely: it sounds counterintuitive, but it's important to enjoy your cravings every once in a while. Telling yourself you can never have it will most likely lead to binge eating later on. <br />🔸 Chew gum: research has shown that grabbing a piece of gum can help reduce cravings. <br />🔸 Eat regularly: Don’t skip breakfast and don’t go several hours without eating. This will cause you to get really hungry and end up overeating. �Eat a healthy snack or meal every few hours. <br /><br />Why do we crave sugar so much? <br />When our body tastes sugar it then releases endorphins that calm and relax the body. It’s natural for our mind to want that constant stimulus from our body. Would you believe me if I told you the problem isn’t the sugar itself? It’s the overeating of sugar that can cause the mood swings and the weight gain. <br /><br />The American heart association recommends limiting added sugar to 6 teaspoons (or 25 grams) for women and 9 teaspoons (or 36 grams) for men.
