Citreoline Trogon
(Trogon citreolus)
Beautiful bird with a yellow belly, endemic to western Mexico, where there are no other species of the genus. Found in dry and semi-arid forests and jungles, thorny thickets, plantations, live fences, and other open areas with tall trees including gardens. It perches mainly in medium and high levels. Sometimes found in small groups on fruiting trees. As well as the yellow belly, also note the pale yellow eyes (dirtier in immatures) and the mostly white undertail, without dark bars.

Ave hermosa de vientre amarillo, endémica del oeste de México, donde no existen otras especies del género. Se encuentra en bosques y selvas secas y semiáridas, matorrales espinosos, plantaciones, cercas vivas y otras áreas abiertas con árboles altos incluyendo jardines. Se percha principalmente en niveles medios y altos. A veces se le encuentra en grupos pequeños en árboles con frutos. Así como el vientre amarillo, note también los ojos amarillo pálido (más sucio en inmaduros) y la parte inferior de la cola mayormente blanca, sin barrados obscuros.
