Absolutely phenomenal experience to be just centimetres away from this enormous, prehistoric predator that absolutely wanted me for lunch. I cannot describe to you how it felt to lock eyes with this incredible animal. 4.6m and 690kg!
I expected him to be used to human interaction and ignore me but as soon as I was lowered into his space he came right over to check for any cracks in that tank!

I was actually in the tank with two crocs - William and Kate! They’ve been together for 30 years and there’s a pic in there of me holding one of their babies, Phillip! Incredible to think they were that small once.
William was actually captured originally because he was stalking people and dogs on Mindil Beach - he’s been viewing us as prey for a long time.
