“Joey and Jerry, 2015 is significant as it depicts the artist as a boy standing with his brother Joel-Peter. The two brothers grew up to be successful artists, a painter and a photographer. The drawing was created in 2015, just two years before the two brothers reunited after a long separation to have a dialogue that inspired two films and two exhibitions, all titled “Witkin & Witkin.”
Ro2 Art had the pleasure of of welcoming Joel-Peter Witkin at the opening reception of “Witkin and Weiss: Wonderful Demands” Saturday night as they walked through the exhibition together.
