First full day on the #Hadrianswallpath had me leaving the city of Newcastle for the countryside of England. I was aware of the ship-building history of NewCastle, but not it extent! The river walk out of the city along the Tyne was a reminder of its industrial history.
Once you hit Newburn the landscape changed to a rolling countryside, followed by a steep climb to Heddon-on-the-wall for my first glimpse of Hadrians Wall!
A great day finished with a late lunch at the Swan in Heddon followed by a warm shower and hospitality at the Wormwald House in Wylam!
