Also 10 is God's Pocket, the drama film directed by John Slattery in his directorial debut and marking one of Philip Seymour Hoffman's posthumous releases following his death in early 2014. Hoffman plays a boozy blue collar worker who tries to bury the truth about his offbalanced stepson's suspicious death, but a nosy newspaper columnist (Richard Jenkins) and the young man's mother (Christina Hendricks) complicate matters. It's a dark and offbeat movie but also meandering and frustratingly inconsistent when it comes to settling on a tone and trying to maintain some character focus.
