What happened to the weekend?
I barely spent any time outside.
Checked on the garden. The spring vegetables like the cooler temps and look really happy. πŸ₯¬
Some work is on hold because the tiller needs a tune-up. We obviously don't till the raised beds, and I'm transitioning 2 large beds to no-till this year.
That leaves the tomato and zinnia beds.
I leaf mulch the zinnia beds in the fall and add organic fertilizer through the growing season.
I'm okay with tilling these beds to aerate the soil in spring. Will try cover cropping in the early fall.
Still trying to figure out tomato garden year to year. Will plant tomatoes in the same area as last year.
Figuring out the best way to grow tomatoes that thrive, water and fertilize efficiently, and optimize soil health.
That said, I potted up nearly 60 tomato plants today, so need to get their summer home ready! πŸ…
House looks like a garden center. I have plants in the laundry room, sunroom, and soon in kitchen windowsills.
Made an interesting loaf of chocolate sourdough bread and a delicious meal from @halfbakedharvest ~Sheet Pan Chicken Tzatziki and Sweet Potatoes with Honey Garlic Tahini Sauce.
Sourdough pita was a sticky mess, and I burned it.
I did salvage a couple rounds that tasted pretty good with homemade tzatziki!
Not everything went as planned this weekend, and I'm tired. Thankful for what I was able to get done, and this truly is my favorite time of year (next to when the flowers bloom)! πŸ’
