Echo has been an extremely challenging and time-consuming puppy and I very seriously considered returning him to his breeder more than once.
He is reactive, intelligent, and sometimes honestly just a prick and this combination is really hard and also not very fun sometimes.
I reached out to his breeder and discussed the options of returning him and he said that 9/10 people would have already returned him and that I would not be faulted if I decided to do so.
I spoke with my husband about giving him back to his breeder and it was almost an immediate no from him. While he has been on the receiving end of Echos antics he reminded me that I decided to get this puppy and he is our dog and our responsibility and that we will not be returning him.
He will be a year old next month and I’m so glad that I didn’t give up on him. He is still a challenge but he loves us and he works hard on trying to make the right decisions.
I can’t imagine him not being ours. I cant think of another family loving him like we do as we’ve overcome so much in just one year. Echo would never give up on us and I can’t believe I ever thought of giving up on him.
