1965 LAMBRETTA TV200
Innocenti began production of the TV200 in April 1963. The TV200 came about after UK Lambretta Concessionaires urged Innocenti to produce a scooter with more capacity = power and, of course, top speed. Innocenti reluctantly agreed, as long as the UK Concessionaires agreed to pay for all warranty claims on each scooter!
At first only the UK received the TV200, but Innocenti eventually exported them to France, Switzerland, Scandinavia and the US, although a large percentage came to the UK.
The TV200 was the sports scooter to have at the time, and there's still a debate going to this day as to which is the best sports scooter, the TV200 or SX200, although I would also throw the Vespa SS180's hat into the ring as well.
The TV200 was powered by a 198cc two-stroke engine producing 10.75hp, which was enough to propel the scoot to a top speed of 68mph. A comfortable cruising speed for the TV200 is 50-60mph, perfect for cruising to the coast on a bank holiday weekend..
Manufacturing ended in October '65 with the introduction of the SX200, with 14,982 TV200's built in total.
The scoot in the photos has been meticulously restored and finished with a stunning custom paint job.
