There wasn't many changes from the Series I TV175 to the Series II, but the Series II was introduced early to move the headlight from the leg shields to the headstock. The TV175 was powered by a 175cc two-stroke engine producing 8.6hp, which gave the scoot a top speed of 62mph. This particular example has been sympathetically restored and is finished in old English white. 1965 LAMBRETTA TV200 Innocenti began production of the TV200 in April 1963. The TV200 came about after UK Lambretta Concessionaires urged Innocenti to produce a scooter with more capacity = power and, of course, top speed. Innocenti reluctantly agreed, as long as the UK Concessionaires agreed to pay for all warranty claims on each scooter! At first only the UK received the TV200, but Innocenti eventually exported them to France, Switzerland, Scandinavia and the US, although a large percentage came to the UK. The TV200 was the sports scooter to have at the time, and there's still a debate going to this day as to which is the best sports scooter, the TV200 or SX200, although I would also throw the Vespa SS180's hat into the ring as well. The TV200 was powered by a 198cc two-stroke engine producing 10.75hp, which was enough to propel the scoot to a top speed of 68mph. A comfortable cruising speed for the TV200 is 50-60mph, perfect for cruising to the coast on a bank holiday weekend.. Manufacturing ended in October '65 with the introduction of the SX200, with 14,982 TV200's built in total. Comfortable cruising speed = 50-60mph. The SX200 is arguably the finest classic sports scooter money can buy, having the perfect blend of quality, style, driveability, performance and handling. This 'oversight' was corrected with the Series II models when Innocenti moved the headlight to the headstock.. The TV175 was powered by a 175cc two-stroke motor producing 8.6hp, which was enough to propel the scoot to a top speed of 64mph. The scoots comfortable cruising speed was 45-55mph, meaning the run to the coast was a pleasurable one. 1963 VESPA 160GS Manufactured from 1962 until 1964, the GS160 was a significant departure from the GS150 that it replaced. Essentially the body, motor and suspension of the 150GS was replaced and Piaggio designed a totally new GS model that was physically far larger, even though it only had a lifespan of 2 years. The GS160 was powered by a 158.5cc two-stroke motor producing 8.2hp, making it virtually the same output as Lambretta's TV175, which meant they had a very similar top speed around 64mph, while it would cruise comfortably at 45-55mph on a run to the coast.. 1965 LAMBRETTA TV175 SERIES 3 Manufactured from March 1962 until October 1965, the Series 3 TV175 was the first scooter or motorcycle to be equipped with a front disc brake. The 175cc 2-stroke engine produced 8.6hp, which gave it a top speed of 62mph and a comfortable cruising speed of 45-55mph, making it the perfect scoot to shoot down to Brighton, Blackpool or Scarborough at the weekend... One of the most popular scooters on the market, due to the fact that it was available when the Mod movement was in its zenith. In total, 37,749 Series III TV175's were produced in the three and a half years the scoot was on sale.
