And today the light comes from a nice Turnera ulmifolia, out of a crack in the wall.
Known as Yellow alder in the USA, Calvel de oro in Mexico and Chanana in Brasil, this flower from the Passifloraceae family stands out for blooming only in the morning (6-10am). Originally from the Caribbean, it is now found in the tropics worldwide, and is sometimes considered invasive, as in New-Caledonia.
Much used as an anti-inflammatory from Mexico to Brasil, it is also widely used for fertility related disorders in the Caribbean, notably to help regulate menstruation.
