The captivating sequel to Belladonna is Foxglove, in which the two cousins confront a hostile force that wishes their separation, and this time, the atmosphere is much darker with Gothic undertones. Duke Julius Wakefield is found dead, believed to have been killed by Lord Thorn Grove himself. Deciding whether or not they can rely on each other as they walk out their lives in high society plagued by murders, is something that must be done by the cousins. They would also have to play trials prepared for them by Fate.
Despite every obstacle in their path, they dream of a kind of equilibrium in the conduct of their lives. Meanwhile, the romance that is fatal and treacherous, a further exploration into Signa’s and Death’s life-threatening position, is as romantically intense as it is risky.
Because of my appreciation for well-created worlds, I could not resist the all-encompassing tapestry of Foxglove. The skillful world-building by Adalyn Grace in the book easily made me feel like I was in another place where magic and the natural world blended together smoothly. Beautifully written words made it sound like this was Nothing Special; this only served to make more appealing meaning feel even sweeter without requiring great effort from someone else since they spoke very emotionally.
My heart grew fonder for "Foxglove" than for the first volume «Belladonna». The narrative depth soared because the theme of flowers was dealt with, running like a sad thread through the whole story
When you read Foxglove, you will get hold of a good mixture: There is a thrilling blend of homicide mysteries unraveled, as well as extravagant balls and politics. The twisty turny interlocking set of connections confuses me concerning who is meant for whom which means I don’t know until last minute hence more thrilling aspect is added to the whole script.
The plot twist was a bit predictable towards the climax, but it was done in a sophisticated manner which brought the book to closure, encompassing all the loose ends in it. “Foxglove”, by Adalyn Grace, gave me a really good time and now I am just can’t wait for her next book.
