Some Monday reading for those inclined to see the magic 🪄 in the macabre 💀. The combination of form and material in Emma Witter’s work is strangely sublime. I loved spending time in her studio and writing an essay laid out over 15 pages for biannual @craftsmagazine about how she boils down bones for sculpture + uses processes like electroforming. More below!

Bones, eggshells and other scraps left behind after meals are usually destined for the bin, but artist Emma Witter (@emma_witter_) is able to turn this detritus into desirable works: ‘The way Witter presents, preserves – and enriches – found objects elevates them to a new preciousness,’ writes Priya Khanchandani (@hiyapriya), ‘making us re-evaluate the things we throw away.’
