Do you remember when you learned how to ride a bicycle? I do, very clearly. I loved my ability to bike, as a kid. It gave me freedom. I could go wherever I wanted.
I am regularly struck by how amazing it is that we can balance on two wheels, some even without hands. We can swerve, drive fast or slow, some can do crazy stunts.
We can, with our own power, go where we want, quicker and more efficiently than if we walked. It's remarkable, don't you think?
The fact that we can learn how to ride a bicycle, is a testament to our ability to learn, grow, overcome fears and improve our lives.
That ability doesn't stop when we become adults. We can always learn new things, change our ways, overcome fears and improve our lives. In my opinion, everyone should make learning new skills part of their life routines, because it's so beneficial for our mental and physical health.
