Plains Bee Assassin 🥷
Apiomerus spissipes
One of the coolest moments I’ve been able to capture. This Bee Assassin bug was enjoying it’s meal on top of some freshly bloomed milkweed. It is always fascinating to observe insects behaving exactly as their common name implies. These bugs coat their legs in sticky plant resin so they are better equipped to hold onto bees. Look at those colors!
