They BOTH made perfect scores on their math tests! 👏🏼
There were two things that I really hated about teaching in public school:
1. Testing. All the dang tests that we were required to facilitate and then judged by our students’ performance. Every child is different. Some test well and some don’t. We create anxiety and fear around assessments where there doesn’t need to be!
2. Not being able to meet each child where they are. This is absolutely my favorite thing about homeschooling. If the boys struggle with fractions, then we focus solely on fractions. If they struggle with reading, then we focus on phonics and phonemic awareness. It’s 2 kids versus 20 and I know them better than anyone else on this planet (which can be a blessing and a curse as their teacher 😬)!
