A little Auggie update. He does pretty well with our three standing appointments every week, but he is absolutely not happy about any other appointment he has. He cries the second they walk in the room, it's a fight and struggle at times and it can be very emotionally exhausting. We had a few appointments yesterday and had to try a few times to get the labs his nephrologist really needs. He passed his hearing test for his right ear, but the left ear he completely failed. He does have an ear infection and a lot of water on the ear, they are hopeful that is the reason he can't hear out of his left ear. Part of me knows he can hear a little bit out of his left ear. The other part knows UCSF doesn't have us go down and do testing every 4 months just for fun, they obviously have some concerns and it's probably why he isn't talking yet. He may need another surgery, they are going to get together and decide if surgery is the best option for him. He is very high risk so surgery is always terrifying for us. Keep our little guy in your thoughts and let's all hope he gets better very soon.
