< Tiny Bathroom Design, DIY and on a budget > <br /><br />Our must-haves were: <br /><br />1. Pocket door. Game changer. The room feels so much bigger, and it's definitely not. (1.7m x 1.7m).<br /><br />2. Bath. Tiny room but I love baths. It just fit down one wall. Thank god we'd knocked the wall down at the top of the stairs for the pocket door. Made it a lot easier to get it in 🤣<br />We went for a more expensive tin bath rather than plastic, but my parents have had one for 17 years and you'd think it was nearly new. Our plastic bath in our old house had scratches from the previous owners, and we didn't want the chance of that.<br /><br />3. Decent sized thermostatic shower over the bath.<br /><br />4. Big white tiles to reflect the light and make the room seem bigger. <br /><br />5. Some colour and character with the floor tiles and vanity unit.<br /><br />6. We decided a wall hung toilet and basin were beyond us and making sure everything was safe enough... but we then decided to go with a big vanity unit to add lots of storage. It doesn't feel too big in the space, and it'll be so useful. <br /><br />7. A decent sized basin. Ours is 55cm, the average is 60cm. We didn't want to just assume small bathroom - tiny basin. And this size really does work here. <br /><br />8. A towel rail - we literally shoehorned this into the space and ended up setting the bath slightly into the wall to gain a few mm. It's only 40cm across but very tall to try and make up for it. <br /><br />9. A big black mirror with a shelf, to help reflect the light and provide more storage. Still to hang! <br /><br />10. Shelves on the wall above the toilet - again much needed storage.<br /><br />11.
