By providing investment and financial services to these arms companies, Barclays is facilitating the provision of weapons and technology for Israel’s attacks
Barclays is the number one European bank financing fossil fuels since the Paris Agreement and Europe’s second largest financier of fossil fuel expansion, providing $55 billion to oil and gas expanders between 2016-2022. They rank 1st in Europe for financing of tar oil sands, Arctic oil and gas, and fracking, and are the top banker for Exxon Mobil, Shell, and BP
Fossil fuel projects don’t just harm livelihoods by accelerating global heating and the devastating effects of climate change. They also negatively impact the health and wellbeing of communities - disproportionately BIPOC or poor communities
