Shot of a rocky mountain off of Sunrise Highway, from last weekend. Below this spot several thousand feet was Blair Valley! Sunrise Highway is a great spot to shoot photos, every view is so photogenic and there’s a ton of intriguing geology & plants. It’s also interesting to me seeing what’s still blooming up there compared to lower elevations such as in Ramona. There was still a lot of Ceanothus in bloom for example, which smelled really nice. I thought the detail on this particular mountain was interesting. Looking at the photo closer as well really gives perspective of how big it actually is (especially on my laptop, where the detail isn’t downsized from syncing to my phone haha). 4-days in the Sahara at the @royalluxurycamp What a time we had! Together with @fabiangreza we went for an epic adventure to the Sahara, last April. Our stay at the @royalluxurycamp #ad has been an amazing experience. We quickly became friends with the staff, enjoyed the local cousine and did lots of fun activities during our time there. Utah at its most surreal. I found this landscape to be jaw-dropping in so many ways, with this amazing spike jutting up from the ground, reaching towards the heavens above. Traversing the Great Sand Dunes Never expected this kind of desert dunes located in middle of mountains. There was giant Lake named Alamosa at San Luis Valley 440,000years ago. And due to climate change, the Lake had been receded and reduced. Sand was left behind after the Lake receded, sand had been blown with predominant south-west winds toward Sangre De Cristo Range. Mostly, the winds blow from the Valley towards Sangre De Cristo mountains, but during bad weather like storm, winds blow back toward the Valley from Mountains. These opposite direction of winds built the sand dunes vertically high up. Also there are two streams from the mountain, they capture the sand from the mountainside of the dune field and carry it to the valley floor. And sand blow back to dune fields.
