After 46 years, the Grand Trunk Railroad's GT (Wet Noodle) logo has been restored to the City of Milwaukee's port and starboard bow. The logo was widely used across the railroad, including all three ships of the fleet. It was added to the City of Milwaukee around 1962, and remained on the ship until she was purchased by the State of Michigan and leased to the Ann Arbor RR in 1978. Some locals may already be used to seeing the GT on the ship, as it has been incorporated into our Christmas light display for the last few years. The work took around 2 weeks, accounting for weather, and required borrowing a custom made painting platform from Marc and Jill Vandermeulen of DeTour Village, MI. Mackinac Island Day Part 2 After a fun carriage ride we toured the Fort and made some new friends. (They were curious about our attire.) Then we sought the requisite fudge and had a fine dinner before departing and returning to Drummond. We had a huge amount of fun and learned a lot even though it required leaving home at 7 am, hiking a mile and a half to the Jeep, four ferry rides (to and from both Drummond and Mackinac) and a mile and a half hike home at 9:30 pm to arrive home at 10!
