IN CONVERSATION | NewCrits: Steve Locke in conversation with Ajay Kurian, Brooklyn-based multimedia artist, Tuesday, April 15, 8:00 PM at Honey's, 93 Scott Avenue, Brooklyn. "When Steve makes art, tells stories, tells on you, or even tells on himself, he does it with flair and some side eye. He tells it in a way where you don't mind hearing ugly things because you still want to hear it. Steve catches details of how we see ourselves and how we see our histories in ways that can be hard, embarrassing, stark, and sometimes ridiculous. He's reinterpreted portraiture and he's put Albers on the auction block. He's made repetition personal, and he's also become a close personal friend. Really, this is just an excuse to spend some time with him. Come by, he'll either treat you like family or a fool." - Ajay Kurian Honey's 93 Scott Avenue, Brooklyn Free entry Click the link in the bio to RSVP for the event – @svlocke @browngoblinnyc @newcrits #SteveLocke #AjayKurian #AlexanderGrayAssociates #Upcomingartisttalk #Artisttalk #Inconversation #NewCrits

Exciting news! The Art festival I am part of, which should have taken place in the Canary islands, is now live online! They've done a fantastic job at salvaging the show, aptly named "the Lost Festival". You can find my work in the first virtual gallery on Artstep: "Lost Stories" It's almost as good as an actual gallery! Additionally I will be giving a brief talk about the work in the show, with time for questions at the end, next monday (July 6th) at 6pm (Paris time).
