The day was full of different activities and competitions for members to take part in from hola hopping, cross country, bale painting, sheaf pitching, stock judging and machinery handling. Last night 4 of our members travelled to Woodhall Spa to take part in North Holland Scavenger Hunt! 🗺️🧭 Worried at first as none of us knew Woodhall particularly well. We were the first team to make it back (granted we didn’t find everything) we waited with bated breath to hear that Spalding came 1st! We gained 40 points with second place getting 34! 🏆🥇 Our prize was a brilliant hamper of chocolate! 🍫Well done Spalding! 🙌We recently held a meeting about “Gratitude” with our YFC students. Each student was invited to light a candle and share with the group one thing they were grateful for. It was an activity that the students really enjoyed doing and they shared some very beautiful things. We used this as an opportunity to share with them about how God’s love for us through Jesus is something we can all be grateful for. 🙏🏻 #yfc #gratitude #creativity
🧶 One of our YFC student’s favorite activities to do at the end of the year is something we call “Love Yarn”. A spool of yarn is passed around the room, and when each student receives it, they are given a sincere compliment by whoever tossed the yarn to them. The student then wraps the yarn around their hand and tosses it to another person and does the same thing. At the end, you have formed a beautiful web within the circle and each line represents a complement that was given to each person. It’s a great way to encourage our students and then “tie” it into a message of God’s love for them. 🙏🏻 #yfc #creativity #gospel

Our summer interns have arrived! Meet Tyler Furtado. Tyler recently graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in Agriculture Business. Tyler was raised on a small ranch in the country with a variety of animals and participated in 4-H and FFA. Some of his favorite hobbies are riding dirt bikes in the sand dunes and going snowboarding in the winter months. Tyler will be interning as an Appraiser Trainee. Overall, Tyler notes he is eager to come back and try a different area within YFC after his educational and enjoyable internship with YFC last summer in lending. This summer he is looking forward to learning more about the appraisal side of financing and meeting new people at YFC. An epic fundraiser, a win at the rally and a whole lot of community spirit are the reasons why Faringdon Senior YFC is Club of the Month. This 45-strong club – where its members also offer support to Faringdon Junior Young Farmers’ Club – raised a whopping £23,000 for three charities after completing the Ridgeway Relay Challenge. The mission involved trekking for 48 hours across 87 miles with the club’s local community backing them every step of the way.
