Recently the NKS Climate Action Fund Project - Communities' Reduce Reuse & Recycle - had a gardening session with Johanna Koen from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). The session was about seeds and how to plant them in seed pots. The service users learnt how to plant seeds properly and had a go at doing this. They took their seed pots with them at the end of the session to grow them at home. Some of the future sessions will be held at the RBGE. NKS had a very successful Open Day on Saturday the 20th of April 2024 from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm at Holy Cross Parish Hall at 11 Bangholm Loan, Edinburgh, EH5 3AH. Well over 120 people attended. NKS had stalls about our current services and projects: Living Well with Long-term Health Conditions; Health and Wellbeing; Improving Lives; Dementia; Heritage - Legends of South Asian Heritage in Scotland; Helpline; Climate Action; Digital Inclusion; Capacity Building and Employment Support; Family Support Service; Storytelling and NKS Nursery and After School/Homework Club.
