The Fall Guy (2024): With all the explosions, flipped cars and people jumping out buildings, this film definitely lives up to being a ‘love letter to stunt workers’. Whilst it is a little too on the nose with this at times it doesn’t detract from this just being a fun movie. The action is mesmerising, the jokes are funny and the movie really feels like a passion project with the cast’s performances. I am definitely on board with Gosling’s petition to add a stunt category at the Oscars and I feel this film was a really creative way at approaching it. Back to the movie itself, it is a little generic with many action movie cliches and predictable plot points but the uniqueness in the whole ‘stunt guy’ idea makes it refreshing. The movie doesn’t feel slow nor does it feel like it skips over important details. Go into this expecting a war photography movie and you won't hate it so much. I appreciate @reginaparham1 for telling me what not to expect before I went into this one. I was able to enjoy the film a lot more than most people I've seen on here. With my expectations of a civil war movie, with a lot of explanation out of the way, I was able to open-mindedly dive into the story of war photographers. There is a lot of war, violence, and gore at times. But what I really found interesting was the morality struggle with the photographers. The job requires them to capture moments of death in real time, while others are fighting for their lives—I can see where that may he frowned upon. There's a certain coldness that they have to carry themselves with to carry out the job, and this film wrestles with the human emotions that come with it. Review: Not a lot of people will like this movie as it's absolutely bonkers.. but I thought it was fun! It's reminds me a bit of "Hobo with a Shotgun". The story makes hardly any sense, there's plot holes all over the show but it doesn't seem to matter 😂😂 Bill Skarsgard is great in this as the plays the deaf and mute main character so he spends the entire film just using facial expressions and doesnt even have one line.. (much like Nicholas Cage in Willy's Wonderland) He instead has an internal.boice which acts as a kind of narrator through the movie. The action sequences are fantastic and extremely brutal. The last one is extremely long, probably not far off the one from "They Live" with Keith David and Rowdy Roddy Piper. It does miss the mark with quite a few of the jokes and drag on at times.. but some other parts are so ridiculous it's got to make you laugh. Story: Der ruhige und introvertierte Cash versucht ein einfaches Leben mit seiner verwaisten Nichte Savannah in den Appalachen aufzubauen. Doch der Mafia-Boss Big Cat zwingt ihn dazu, wieder für ihn zu arbeiten. Cash muss sich auf eine Reise begeben, die die Grenze von Gut und Böse verwischt, und ihn der er lernt, dass er bereit ist, alles zu tun, um seine Heimat und seine Familie zu beschützen - auch wenn es ihn alles kosten kann. . Kritik: Brutal, blutig und erbarmungslos. "Red Right Hand" bietet eine außerordentlich düstere Handlung und Atmosphäre, was dem Film relativ gut tut, da er auf der schauspielerischen Ebene leider echt nicht auf der höchsten Liga mitspielt. Die blutigen und brutalen Momente des Films waren definitiv das Highlight. Leider ist die Story nichts Neues in dem Genre, bitte aber dennoch die ein oder andere durchdachte Wendung, was sich doch in vernünftiger Unterhaltung widerspiegelt. Insgesamt gibt's eine 3/5 für den Film. . Der Film ist seit dem 12.04. als Blu-ray und DVD uncut für euch verfügbar. Für Fans des Genres lohnt es sich definitiv. Extraction (2020). С появлением Джона Уика, который переизобрел жанр экшен фильмов, другие тоже решили не отставать. Очень красивая картинка, живописные улочки Бангладеша под закатным солнцем. Бодрый экшен, приземленный, по заветам Уика. Но самое крутое - это операторская работа. Очень динамичная, будто документальная съемка, когда оператор буквально преследует героев, прячась за укрытиями. Неплохие актерские работы, от сюжета особых откровений ждать не стоит.
