Super St. Exupery 👌🏼 Today I popped open this 2020 Château Malescot St. Exupery from Margaux in Bordeaux, France. This Third Growth Bordeaux blend of Merlot (49%), Cabernet Sauvignon (44%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Petit Verdo t 3%) was sporting a beautiful deep garnet color with purple reflections. 😍 The wine was rich on the nose and palate with pronounced aromas and flavors of blueberries, blackberries, cherries, currants, mocha and cedar. I enjoyed this luscious, mouth coating wine that ended in a long juicy finish without needing to pair it with any food. 😋 It has been a while since I drank wine from this chateau and I definitely need to change that! Château Batailley é uma das residências mais antigas da cidade de Pauillac. As vinhas começam a ser plantadas nesse local no século XVII. Desde 1924, após passar por diversos donos, o Château é administrado pela família Borie-Castéja. Em 1941 a propriedade seria dividida entre os 2 irmãos…originaram os Château Batailley e Haut-Batailley. O Château Batailley um 5ème Cru Classé da classificação de 1855! Com vinhas com idade média de 40 anos, numa área de 57 hectares, de solos compostos por sílica e cascalho! 1986 Lafite 4.5 / 5 - it's Lafite! Throwback! The 1986 Lafite is still a rather pretty ruby with a garnet ring. Chocolatey with a medley of fruits and leather on the nose. 2017 was a cold vintage in Bordeaux with late frosts in spring and rain on summer, that made Cabernet Sauvignon ripe very slowly and achieve good complexity.
