The fells and woods beckoned. It’s been a busy week and an exhausting week. Despite feeling really tired, I needed to get out of the house and get some head space 🧘♀️, a bit of decompression time. This is part of my three pronged approach to well-being Nature 🌳🐝🦆🥦🫐 Movement 🥾💃🏊🏼🧘♀️ And Creativity ✍️📒🥗💐 The air was so full of birdsong 🎶 and it was wonderful to hear lapwings, skylarks and curlews up on the fells. Also great that all other dog walkers I encountered had their dogs on leads which means these ground nesting species won’t be disturbed. My head clears, ideas start to flow, stress evaporates away and now I have plenty to put in my journal 📓. The end of a long week. And don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my job, but I do need that time outside to switch off. Today, I took a road I wasn’t intending to drive up and stopped and took a little footpath that I had never walked up. About 20 minutes in I got that moment. That ah moment. That moment when you realise that you’re not thinking about anything else other than where your foot is going. You fall into that beautiful rhythm. Step after step You notice the light on the grasses, the bird song, the crickets, the clouds. And all that other cr*p just melts away. That’s what we need.
