今日は車でDIC川村美術館の「カール・アンドレ展」へ。前の展示がすっかり気に入ってしまい、今度は株主になって戻ってきた！株主優待として届く入場券がめちゃくちゃ洒落てて、収蔵品のポストカードになってる。良すぎる〜。 カール・アンドレはアメリカの彫刻家で、木や金属などをまんま無機質に置くタイプの人。前半の部屋は広々とキャプション無しで作品が展示されていて、土足で踏んでよい作品が複数ある(!!)のがめちゃくちゃ面白かった。後半の部屋は詩が展示され、前半と似て整然としながらも、英語の面白さを讃えた作品が多く、とても印象的でした。来月末までやってるのでおすすめ。毎回常設にも感動してしまう(バブルのときに沢山買ったんだろうけど、それを売ることなく、ひっそりと展示し続けてるのがすごいよなぁ)。 川村美術館は、とにかく敷地が広くて、のびのびと出来るのがとてもいいのです。芝生もちゃんと手入れされて、池にも季節の植物がたくさん。今回は睡蓮とカキツバタも見頃で、白鳥までいらっしゃった、、まじか。 とにかく都会の商業的な企画展示に飽き飽きしてきているので、ちょっと離れていても、ゆっくり作品を味わえる美術館をこよなく愛しています(次は北杜市のキースヘリング狙ってる)。ぬくぬくしたい方は、ぜひー！ #カールアンドレ #carlandre #dic川村記念美術館 #美術館 #現代美術 #千葉観光 #子連れ美術館

千葉県佐倉市の川村記念美術館でカール・アンドレという方の展示をやられているというので行ってきました。 フランク・ステラ氏のコレクションでも知られる川村記念美術館、私、初めて行ったのですが、素晴らしかったです✨ もともと里山だったところに美術館を建てられたそうで、多様な植物の緑と光のハーモニーは感動的でしたし、レンブラントからモネ、ピカソ、ウォーホル 〜ミニマル・アートに至るまで、美術史を彩る珠玉の逸品を網羅したコレクションは、作品の持つ煌めきだけでなく、それらを選ばれた方の愛みたいなものが感じられて、私、久しぶりに美術の展示空間で、高校生の頃に受けたようなざわめきが心に起きているのを感じながら歩きました。 ( どの作品も素晴らしかったのですが、私は、リチャード・ハミルトンの一連がハートにグッ、いやキュンっ！と来ました。シルバーの箔があしらわれたシルクスクリーン作品が数点並んでいたのですが、トースターの印刷作品で高貴なセクシーさを感じさせるって流石やと思いました。 また、マーク・ロスコのシーグラムビル用に描かれた連作の部屋もやっぱり凄かったです。ソファに座って暫く観ていたけど、画面を観れば観るほど怖いような魅力が向こうにあって・・ロスコはこの先に何を視ていたんだろう・・と思いつつ、何故か、風穴で御胎内巡りをした時のような感覚が不意によぎった私でした・・。 ) メモ書きが長くなりましたが、本命のカール・アンドレさん、ステラ氏とアトリエを共有していた仲だったそうですが、作品は、ミニマリズムながらステラさんとはまた違った、詩的な印象を感じました。 セッティングされた彫刻の内の数点は、作品の上を実際に歩いてOKとのことで、私も歩いてみたら、見た目のクールさとは違った、鉄板や石といった素材ならではの温度や、小さな段差がもたらすカタリとした質感が足元から伝わってきて、一歩一歩進む毎にほくそ笑みました。 日常にあるインターロックの舗道や石畳、アスファルトや側溝のステンのギザギザもその気になればミニマリズムの宇宙の入口かも知れんな・・と思いました。 豊かな森と濃密なアートの感動が待っている川村記念美術館、また訪ねてみたいです⚡ 写真5枚目は、館内のお茶席で頂いたアンドレ作品のイメージの羊羹です。3種のフレーバーが視覚と味覚に楽しかったです。 #カールアンドレ #川村記念美術館 #ブライス #パンカホリックピープル #ニッキーラッド #建築巡り #パンカさんの建築巡り #carlandre #kawamuramemorialdicmuseumofart #blythe #punkaholicpeople #nickylad #architecture

So glad I got to see ‘Stillness: Hammershøi and American Minimalism’ at Phillips yesterday, featuring works by the Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøi from the turn of the last century, alongside American Minimalists Anni Albers, Robert Mangold, Agnes Martin, and Sol Lewitt among others. Hammershøi pared down his interiors to their barest essentials, suffusing his work with a quiet atmosphere that I love. He employed a minimalist palette to create scenes that to this day seem to have a modern sensibility. The Minimalists similarly distilled their compositions to the purest of formal elements, eliminating figuration, representation, and symbolism. Their simple shapes and textures seemed to really enhance certain compositional aspects of Hammershøi. It was an interesting and inspired combination. Mel Bochner, Working Drawings and Other Visible Things on Paper Not Necessarily Meant to be Viewed as Art, School of the Visual Arts, 1966 In the fall of 1966, Mel Bochner, then an instructor at the School of Visual Arts in New York, was asked to organize a Christmas show. The show was to run from December 2 to 23, 1966. Bochner asked artists he admired—such as Donald Judd, Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Sol LeWitt, Eva Hesse, Dan Graham, Jo Baer, Robert Moskowitz, Robert Smithson, Al Jensen, and others—for drawings that weren’t necessarily ‘works of art.’ Bochner was left to find a solution to present these drawings after the gallery dismissed funding for the show, claiming they had “no money to frame them.” The process: - Bochner photographed each drawing. - He used the school’s Xerox machine to print the drawings. - He created four books with the arranged drawings in alphabetical order. - The frontispiece included a floor plan with measurements of the gallery, and the final page featured a diagram of the Xerox machine. - He placed each book on a white wooden pedestal that reached table height at reading level. - No chairs were provided, forcing viewers to stand hunched over. happy mother's day!! 今日は川村記念美術館へ お目当ての展示はカールアンドレ カールアンドレも所蔵品も良かったけど、とにかく美術館自体が素晴らしかった！ 建物の素材感とか、空気感。 細かなところまで行き届いたデザイン 程よく整理された深い森 モネの実写版のようなハスの池 広い空に続く芝生の原っぱ どこをとっても気持ちよくてまた好きなスポットが増えました 原っぱで子どもたちが何やら楽しそうに遊んでいるなぁ、と思っていたら母の日のプレゼントとして野の花でブーケを作ってくれてました 嬉しい❤️ 自分のできる範囲で、一生懸命人を喜ばせようとする魂がしっかりと根付いているのが嬉しい 小さな頃からこの事を1番大切に育ててきたから 人が喜んでくれたら嬉しい 人が悲しんでいたら悲しい 当たり前のようだけど、基本的にこれが強ければ曲がった大人にはならないと思うから 仕事においてもツールはなんであろうとコレが基本 母の日に子供の成長や優しさが1番のプレゼントになりました #母の日 #dic川村記念美術館 #カールアンドレ #carlandre #エンターテイナー #人を喜ばせる事が好き #愛 #いつもありがとう

． 千葉県は佐倉市までドライブがてら、とてつもなく久しぶりにDIC川村記念美術館へ🚙カミさんと初めてデート的なことをした日以来なので、10年ぶりくらいですかね(遠い目 前回は五木田智央さんの展示でした。アートの世界は10年たった今でも特に詳しくはありませんが、あーテイトウワのジャケ描いてる人だ！と当時は思い立った記憶です。 今回はカミさんのリクエストでカール・アンドレという彫刻家＆詩人の展示でした。一部作品の上を歩けたり、親子でも楽しめる内容とのことで(実際はけっこう規制がありそうもいきませんでしたが😅)倅も何かしらのインスピレーションを持ち帰れたのかな。 現場へ着いてから知りましたが、ラッパーの環ROYさんがプロモーションに一枚噛んでいる企画だそう。もともとカール氏は彫刻よりも先に、ポエトリーの作品にて脚光を浴びた芸術家だったとか。 展示を回った後は敷地内のひらけた公園で2時間くらいぼーっとして過ごしました。頭から草 超えて花 超えて森が生えましたよね☺️🌳このところ公私とも、しかめっ面で考え込んでいる時間が長かったので、しこたまリフレッシュできたと思います。 アルバムあさってみたら10年前の写真がまだ残っていた。 極めて画質が香ばしい。笑 #carlandre

今月のand Artは、1950年代後期にニューヨークのフランク・ステラのスタジオに居候しながら、詩の創作からやがて立体作品を制作しはじめたカール・アンドレに関して書きました。川村記念美術館での展示はできれば現地で体験してこそその本当の良さがわかるというもの(~6/30まで開催中)。アンドレの作品はミニマリズムアート特有の冷たさがなく、逆にどこか温かみがありヒューマンスケールなところが人の心の残るのだと思う。今年はアンドレ、セラ、ステラが矢継ぎばやに亡くなってしまったが、現代アートに多大なインパクトを与え、アートの歴史の流れをも変えた彼らの作品はこれからさらに評価されていくのだろう。 #カールアンドレ #carlandre #カールアンドレ彫刻と詩その間 プロフィールのリンクをクリック https://andpremium.jp/column/kawachi-taka/carl-andre/

Some great historic works by nine artists in the ‘Disparity’ show at Paula Cooper, highlighting the differences, rather than the similarities, between their approaches to three-dimensional work. Bill Bollinger’s ‘Pipe Piece’, 1967, was in the gallery’s inaugural exhibition in 1968! Formed of two aluminum pipes of unequal length joined by an elbow socket, Bollinger created sculptures characterized by subtle handling of mechanically manufactured materials—radical, direct and elegant. Also loved Robert Grosvenor’s ‘Untitled’, 1976-77, a solid mass of salvaged wood beams with gently curved edges, finished with creosote. It had the scale of a vaulting box from gym class, and was also a little reminiscent of a giant malt loaf, so comforting to look at. The artists here might have differing methodologies, but the show is a testament to the gallery’s incredibly consistent and cohesive vision. Taking from her decentered feminist lens perspective, Campbell’s work notes how totemic male artists dominate institutional, collection, and market narratives despite decades of powerful waves of decolonization and feminist critique. Her appropriative practice comes out of a lineage of artists, such as Sturtevant, Sherri Levine, and Louise Lawler, who have employed appropriation to compelling ends.
