Do you make-your-own-happy? What does that mean to you? (Exercise below) To me, it means finding something that brings you joy or makes you smile in the regular minutia of your day. Things happen, people alter your mood (we’re human and we all get caught up in it), you get caught in the rain, there’s traffic…you get it. There’s always something… 👀 But then, you see a bird soar…you stop and notice the gorgeous sunset, your favorite song comes on the radio, someone notices you and smiles, a baby laughs and you feel the contagious emotion of that, or someone sends you a funny cat video… Or you take a few minutes to do something that makes you feel lighter inside - maybe a few deep breaths or yoga, maybe you call a friend you haven’t talked to in a while and hear their laugh, or maybe you watch that show you’ve been putting off. Whatever it is that makes your shoulders naturally drop, even for a minute or two. Isn’t that weird when we drop our shoulders and relax for a sec we realize just how much tension we’ve been holding?! 😮💨Take a sec now, take a breath and then relax your shoulders, roll them back, let out that breath…feels good, right? That was free and it took a few seconds! ✨ We all have the power - we make choices every minute. Make the CHOICE to make your own happy, even if just for a few minutes. You can do it! Then your day is a little better. And then you can make someone else’s day better!
