5 💫 💫 💫 💫 💫 Si el primero fue pura maravilla, este segundo es pura fantasía. No puede tener otra puntuación que no sea perfecta!! La Balada del Nunca Jamás es la segunda parte de la trilogía de Érase una vez un corazón roto, y hasta ahora, mi favorito ❣️ Jack y Evangeline se han convertido en persones que recordaré siempre por lo interesantes que son. En este libro se conoce un poco más de Jacks y sus intenciones y sobre sus verdaderos sentimientos. Tiene frases únicas que te harán enamorarte más de él y querer que solo le pasen cosas buenas. Creo que es un personaje con moralidad gris bien creada, que hace cosas cuestionables al punto que le tienes mucha rabia pero a la vez no puedes evitar amarlo y compadecerte de él. "Solo esta noche di que eres mía" Te amo Jacks❤️❣️ Vemos sus sentimientos REALES por Evangeline y lo intensos que son jjj Aquí vemos el cliché de "el cae muy fuerte por ella" y yo lo amo con todo mi corazón. Evangeline sigue siendo igual de dulce y queriendo un final feliz sin herir a nadie en el camino, y mientras más su destino se entrelaza con el de Jacks no puede evitar desear más de él. Simplemente maravilloso!! Y que decir de la construcción de mundo y el misterio que los envuelve, creo que la autora se ha superado con este segundo libro. No ha bajado el nivel ni un poco y con cada página describe otro detalle único en este mundo de fantasía tan característico. El final me destrozó y grite a todo pulmón por lo que había pasado. Definitivamente esta mujer sabe lo que es un Plot twist que te deja sin habla y que solo puedes desear la continuación ❣️❤️Hay momentos en el libro en los que realmente dudas de quién es el villano y quien no, porque de cierta forma todos tienen un motivo oculto y harán lo que sea por conseguirlo. Je si však vedomá toho, že on je Osud a teda sa doňho nesmie zamilovať. Navyše je Princom sŕdc, ktorého bozk je smrteľný pre každého okrem jeho pravej lásky, ktorú už stretol. Túto sériu radím medzi najlepšie, ktoré som v poslednom čase čítala. Písaná je pútavo a jedna akcia strieda druhú. Ak si počas čítania myslíte, že sa niečo rozuzlilo, tak verte, že sa to ešte zamotá riadne. A ja som veľmi rada, že som si na čítanie celej série počkala až do vydania tretej časti, pretože je to naozaj napínavé čítanie a nevydržala by som pár mesiacov čakať. A tu prichádza moje sklamanie - v závere, kedy sa konečne pobozkajú je to také, že pobozkali sa a čo? Žiadne výbuchy citov, ohňostroje a nič. Navyše chýba hlbšie vysvetlenie ako je možné, že Evangeline prežila kliatbu jeho bozku. Proste čakáte, čakáte, kedy konečne po tých všetkých náznakoch 🔥 a odrazu keď to príde, tak sa pobozkajú, príde opäť napätie, lebo sa zjaví Apollo a potom proste záver knihy. 🍎 𝐄𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐳 𝐮𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨 🍎 Primer libro de la trilogía «Érase una vez un corazón roto» de @stephanie_garber ✨ Poca broma, no sentía especial interés por esta trilogía hasta que vi el fanart de Jacks que subió @itslopez hace unos meses. Y este impulso podría haber salido muy mal, pero por suerte, puedo decir que he disfrutado un montón este libro. Desde el principio me enamoré del rollo y de la estética que tiene, pues mezcla muchos elementos de los cuentos clásicos y de hadas (príncipes y princesas, maldiciones, hechizos de amor, cuentos y leyendas, etc) con un toque siniestro y retorcido, de esto que sientes constantemente que algo no encaja del todo y que hay un aura oscura en el ambiente. Muy guay. Sin embargo, es verdad que al principio no las tenía todas conmigo, pues los personajes (sobre todo Evangeline) me resultaban bastante indiferentes y sentía que todo se contaba y ocurría de manera bastante superficial, random y sosa. Como que la idea me parecía buena, pero me fallaba la ejecución. Por suerte, debo decir que mejora conforme avanza. Me tenía súper enganchada, súper dentro y constantemente tenía ganas de leer y de saber más, no podía dejar de pensar en el libro. Porque otra cosa no sé, pero los libros de esta señora amenos y adictivos son un rato. Además de esto, el punto más fuerte que tiene es el personaje de Jacks, que pese a ser uno de los protagonistas de la historia y el interés amoroso de la protagonista femenina, es a la vez el antagonista y prácticamente no sabes nada de él. Creo que hay mucha historia detrás de él y me daba muchísima curiosidad su personaje. En mi opinión, el libro flojea un poco en algunas cosas, pero considero que tiene elementos que lo hacen muy disfrutable y, chica, que te lo bebes en dos días. Magari fosse così semplice trovare “il lieto fine”… Per Evangeline sarà molto complicato dal momento che è stata maledetta ad interpretare, insieme ad Apollo, la “ballata dell’ arciere e della volpe”. Il finale di questa storia non sembra essere dei migliori e in tutto ciò non può non esserci lo zampino del fato Principe di Cuori. Evangeline dovrà prestare molta attenzione perché dal momento che è lei “la fanciulla d’ora rosa coronata” è la sola in grado di aprire l’Arco del Valory, tuttavia c’è chi non desidera una sua apertura e sarà disposto a tutto pur di ostacolare i piani di Jacks ed Eve. Zwischendurch hatte es seine Längen, aber die wurden ganz einfach durch den wundervollen Schreibstil überbrückt. Das ganze Buch fühlt sich super magisch an und man wird richtig gefesselt von der Welt. In diesem Band hatte ich richtige Caraval feelings, weil man sich irgendwie bei nichts sicher sein konnte. Wenn man glaubt man wusste was, dann tat man es nicht. Ein paar Sachen waren offensichtlich, aber so viele andere Dinge habe ich nicht erwartet. Ich liebe Evangeline und Jacks, auch wenn die Lovestory manchmal im Fokus zu sein scheint, ist sie es an anderen Stellen irgendwie nicht. Ich liebe die beiden zusammen, aber an manchen Stellen hätte ich mir doch etwas mehr Spanmung, unabhängig vom Plot, in der Lovestpry gewünscht. Daher auch der halbe Stern Abzug. Das Ende kam total unerwartet und die Zeit verging einfach so rasend als ich die letzten Seiten gelesen habe. Ich bin wirklich so gespannt wie es weiter geht und habe auch Angst was da noch so kommt. ♥️ Once Upon a Broken Heart Review (with very mild spoilers!) ♥️ What can I say besides this was a 5/5 for me! The drama between Evangeline and Jacks… the heartbreak & betrayal… the twists at the end! I was hooked! I am absolutely loving this growth from Stephanie Garber and her writing style. I mean, clearly from how I’ve ranked her Caraval series til now you can see each book has gained a higher and higher rating from me! Prepare for minor spoilers as I delve into what made this book stand out in comparison to her original trilogy. I think an interesting pivot in this book was how the main conflict felt impactful to the world rather than the individual character(s). In the original Caraval trilogy, many of Scarlett and Donatella’s problems centered around their lives and their relationships to one another alone (which there’s nothing wrong with, I was eating the boy drama up). In this book, however, Evangeline runs into dilemmas that spell trouble for many—herself, her “family”, and her world included. I think the fantasy was both played up and taken back in this book in comparison to the magical feel of Caraval, which might not make sense if you haven’t read both books but if you have… do you get what I mean? The “magic” within the series felt less like an act (like Caraval in, well… Caraval) and more like the lifestyle the characters are accustomed to, minus the chaos of the fates thrown into all of the books. I can’t wait to continue the series and see where this cliffhanger leaves off. 27th read of the year!! And WOW. I think that summarizes the book in itself, but this is a review so I guess I’ll explain why. The Ballad of Never After, by Stephanie Garber, is the second book in the Once Upon A Broken Heart series. My favorite book of all time is Caraval, also by Stephanie Garber, so I had high hopes for this book. It met and exceeded way past my expectations! The first book in the series lacked plot for me, but this one was full of twists and turns, and kept you flipping the pages. I was staring at the wall speechless when I finished this book I DEFINITELY recommend to anyone who has already read the entire Caraval series. Once Upon A Broken Heart spoils Caraval so make sure to read Caraval first. Today I want to talk about the Once Upon a Broken Heart trilogy by @stephanie_garber . Once Upon a Broken Heart follows the story of Evangeline Fox who finds out the love of her life is suddenly marrying his stepsister. In an attempt to stop the wedding she goes to the church of The Prince of Hearts (Jacks) one of the immortal fates and asks him to stop the wedding. Little does she know he's in the church and says he'll do it for a price, she has to kiss 3 people of his choosing whenever he says. . This trilogy had me in a CHOKEHOLD!! I devoured the entire thing in a few days. Whilst I adored Caraval this series was in an entire other league. Jacks and Evangeline have my whole heart and even now I miss reading about them and wish I could have more content! Yes Jacks does some questionable things but we don't talk about that he's morally grey for a reason 😹. 💕 The Greatest Love Story Ever Told: The True and Unabridged History of Evangeline Fox and the Prince of Hearts. 💕 A Curse For True Love // Stephanie Garber // OUABH 3 The End. It’s been a while since I’ve inhaled an entire YA series like I did with this one. Probably not since I first read the Cruel Prince! But this was such a beautiful series and I will definitely be rereading and listening the audio on my walks. This final book though… I feel I have more questions than answers now… 😅 {Spoilers ahead for the series} So I loved the ending for Eva and Jacks. I loved the storyline of him basically following her and constantly watching her. I liked how she made them get their HEA. However… I could have possibly done without out all the Apollo chapters… I get that they were needed to villainise him, but meh. Also I feel slightly bad that the main reason he was the villain was because the curses everyone had put on him had basically made him insane and obsessed with Eva. Although I get his own egotism was his downfall in the end. I think I would have preferred seeing a more satisfying end for Aurora. And I’m left with a LOT of questions. I’m hoping there is a Castor x LaLa book that can answer some of them down the line. But the main one is, what happens between Eva and Jacks now? He’s still immortal. She isn’t. They get a HEA, but I found myself questioning how happy it really is. Also was Marisol just forgotten in this book? And Luc? Will he return? I feel there’s still a lot to wrap up and I hope there’s another book with these characters, even if it’s not Jacks and Eva focused. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 More of a 3.5 🌟 for me but enjoyed the conclusion! Recently just finished A curse for True Love and needed a few days before I posted about it and the rest of the series. This series created by Stephanie Garber is the most addictive and enchanting series I have ever read. It left me wanting more everytime I had to stop reading, from the magic set within the book to the slow burn romance. I couldn’t get enough, the world was so beautifully detailed as well as the characters. The characters are some of the best I have read in any book, Evangeline is one of my favourite main protagonists from a book, she was just a joy to read and watch grow as a character. Then of course how could I not mention Jacks 😍 he is one of my favourite characters ever now, I just loved how complex he was but ultimately got the happy ending he deserved. If you asked me to name a perfect series from start to finish, the Once upon a broken heart series would be my answer. It has my heart forever! Some quotes that I loved: 🩷 “I don’t know if I can fix your broken heart, but you can take mine because it’s already yours.” 💜 “Jacks no longer felt her enemy, he felt like her home.” 🩷 “And he loved her. En ese caso, esta es tu saga. No soy capaz de expresaros con palabras lo mucho que disfruté leyendo estos libros. Porque ni siquiera yo misma sé decir el por qué. Sin embargo, quizá es por el momento en que llegaron, pero me resultaron refrescantes, ilusionante y adictivos. Un soplo de aire fresco después de varias lecturas más pesadas y serias. Y era justo lo que necesitaba. Jacks me enamoró por completo. Puedo decir que me encantó la pluma de la autora. Realmente consigue que sientas ese ambiente de Cuento de Hadas clásico, con elementos fantásticos, giros de trama absurdos en donde no hay nada imposible y nada de lo que parece lo es en realidad. Crea un ambiente mágico encantador. El romance avanza a un ritmo perfecto, un slow burn fantástico donde ves la evolución de Evangeline y de Jacks por partes iguales. No tiene nada spicy explícito, pero al mismo tiempo mantiene una tensión tangible que atrapa muchísimo más que en otros libros más explícitos. Entre los puntos flojos, tan sólo puedo decir que el tercer libro quizás alargó demasiado tramas que ya no llevaban a ningún lado y que algunos de los plot twist son predecibles. Aunque nada de eso me hizo disfrutarlo menos. Por otro lado, no vengas a esta historia esperando encontrarte una fantasía super elaborada, ni una historia sería y lógica de romantasy por no lo es. Ni pretende serlo. Es una fantasía cozy, divertida, cursi y romántica para disfrutar con ganas de sentir el corazón calentito a pesar del drama. “E non vissero per sempre felici e contenti” - “The ballad of never after” 💔💔di Stephanie Garber è il secondo capitolo della trilogia iniziata con “C’era una volta un cuore spezzato”. Personalmente mi piacerebbe molto raggiungere la condizione descritta nel titolo di questo romanzo: “e vissero per sempre felici e contenti” e magari un giorno (molto lontano 😂)riuscirò ad ottenerla, però per ora è meglio rimanere con i piedi per terra e capire come mai per Evangeline Volpe questo “vissero per sempre felici e contenti” sia tanto importante. Sempre ammettendo che riesca a raggiungerlo… Una vita da fiaba sarebbe un sogno, ed è proprio questo a cui ambisce Eve, tuttavia la vita le insegna, attraverso le varie peripezie e vicissitudini, che una fiaba può essere ricca di imprevisti (di Fati impertinenti) e soprattutto difficoltà. La realtà può essere declinata in una fiaba, però difficilmente sarà lineare, con un inizio, uno svolgimento ed una lieta conclusione. Pero nada sale bien y termina haciendo un trato con él, ya que Jacks siempre consigue lo que quiere. Vemos la evolución de Evangeline, su confianza y deseo en hacer las cosas bien, pero sobre todo conseguir su final feliz, lo que Jacks no se lo va a poner tan fácil y nunca te puedes fiar de los Destinos😏 Este libro me ha encantado, en su día intenté leer Caraval y no pude con el, en cambio éste me ha parecido mejor escrito, un world building mucho más completo y mejor explicado, unos personajes increíbles y una historia que te atrapa desde el primer capítulo. Obviamente tenemos el cliché enemies to lovers que tanto nos gusta y que sin duda Evangeline y Jacks le van a dar mucho juego. No por ello es peor protagonista. Aún así los libros por separado se me hicieron largos y repetitivos y creo que un libro más largo hubiese sido suficiente. Series review: Once Upon A Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber (I am not okay; I will never be okay; JACKS) *slight spoilers* *Jacks has clouded my judgement a little* Once Upon A Broken Heart—4.2⭐ I ATE THIS UPPP!!! It didn’t take long to get into the book because Jacks appeared right at the beginning and I’ve been rooting for him since the Caraval series. I love the world Stephanie Garber creates because it feels so magical and whimsical, and all of the fairy tales and history fits so perfectly—this book gives a “the stars align” type of feel. I love that magic is more infused in the world around them rather than the characters themselves; the magical setting made me forget that I was reading and helped me visualize the world clearly. However, I thought characters weren’t very complex, and I wish the story had a little more sustenance; I think the Caraval series was higher stakes and therefore more intense. Don’t go into this expecting a heavy story or main character—just be ready to completely swoon over Jacks and fall in love with the magical feeling of this book. The Ballad of Never After—4.5⭐ I loved this book so much. And OH MY GOD. THE ENDING. Jacks and Evangeline are perfect—the tension, banter, protectiveness, jealousy; this is all I’ll ever need in life. Thank you Garber for including Jacks in almost every chapter; I was revitalized every time he appeared. The plot is exciting and keeps you hooked, and I love how all the fairy tales are intertwined with the story. It’s definitely not healthy how quickly I inhaled this book. A Curse for True Love—4⭐ I needed so much from this book. I expected so much from this book. And sure, I stared at a wall for an hour after finishing this, and sure, mentally I am not okay, but still I need MORE. I wish the ending was more concrete, because many things were left open ended. We got Jacks pov (YES), but did not need that much Apollo in this book. This novel succeeded most when Evangeline and Jacks were together, so how dare Garber keep them separated for so long!! The reviews progressively got shorter because the only thing I really need to say about this series is JACKS, bye.

È stato come tornare a casa, mi è piaciuto tantissimo rivedere Lala e Chaos. I Valor poi aggiungono parecchio all’intreccio. C’erano tutte le premesse per un megafinale. Ma qualcosa non è andato. Personaggi amati nei libri precedenti si volatilizzano, altri sbucano fuori dal nulla aggiungendo troppa carne al fuoco. Alcune domande su Jacks incontrano soltanto risposte sottintese o non date. Poi, Stephanie, tu sei un tesoro, ma io i finali alternativi e gli extra non li leggo, sorry. Detto ciò, una lettura che intrattiene ed è gradevole, il testo scorre, la narrazione ha un ritmo serrato e coinvolgente e scoperte e segreti anche questa volta tengono sempre con il fiato sospeso. Mi mancherà tanto tutto il Magnifico Nord e non vedo l’ora di leggere “Spectacular”. Insomma, il libro ve lo raccomando, ma tenete presente che non è esente da difetti e che ci saranno picchi altissimi ma anche delle leggere cadute di stile nelle trovate dell’autrice. REVIEW - A Curse For True Love by @stephanie_garber 💖💘💕 I LOVED this book. It was painful and beautiful and heartwrenching and had me on the edge of my seat. I will say that the first 100 pages were a little hard to get through (seeing as a certain someone was MIA) but after that it really picked up and I became so hooked. This book didn’t have as many romantic moments in it as the second one, but the drama and high stakes made up for it. This book was everything I wanted from the finale to Evangeline and Jacks’s story. And even though it wasn’t perfect, I could never not LOVE being in this world and with these characters. So for that reason, I’m giving this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The second one is still my favourite though 🥹🫶🏼. Mild spoilers 🚨 Things I liked: It was torturous watching everything go wrong, but it made the ending so much more worth it. And the fact that SO many people were trying to keep them apart, made their love even stronger. I also loved getting some of Jacks’s perspective. Though I would have rather had less Apollo POVs and more Jacks POVs.
