Drift is very proud to be able to bring you work from the multi award winning artist Olivia Dunn ASWA, at our opening, including this stunning piece ‘What Remains.’ @just_florence_art is an Associate member of the Society of Women Artists and exhibits regularly at Mall Galleries London. She has exhibited at the Society Of Graphic Fine Art where she was awarded Best in Show 2024 and in the Pastel Society 2023 where she was awarded the Caran de Ache Award. Olivia has also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters 2023, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and Discerning Eye. Olivia received the Treadwell Materiality Award at Gallery Green and Stone 2023 and also the Derwent Special Fine Art Prize for a Young Artist. Olivia’s love of drawing is the foundation of her work. She completed a degree in Fine Art and then obtained a degree in Psychology whilst continuing to develop her art practice. Both aspects of art and psychology are central to her paintings which explore the concept of the female form through portraiture and more specifically childhood. The gallery, founded in 2019 by Fleur Feringa and Wouter van Herwaarden, present their concept statement as follows: The aim of Galerie Fleur & Wouter is to bring young people into contact with art, to make them feel at home in the gallery and to motivate them to start collecting. This philosophy of an accessible and inclusive gallery is reflected in all our activities. We try to communicate in an accessible way and tell clear stories. We present artists with a strong story, who create works of art that have an immediate appeal, but then turn out to have many other layers as well. Our artists work in different art forms and we are always looking for cross-links outside of the visual arts. Artists who have been ignored by general art history, such as Outsider artists, are also given a platform in the gallery. The majority of our artists are young and they will grow with the gallery in the coming years. But we also work together with mid-career artists like Jan Hoek and Mai van Oers. Dilphosaurus, one of earliest large predatory dinosaurs that lived in North America during the early Jurassic. The name means "two-crested lizard". The teeth on this predator were serrated and very sharp claws. Measuring about 23ft in length and weighing about 800lbs. This predator is nothing like the one in the Jurassic park movies and didn't have the ability to spit poison. However, this predator was the top predator during it's time and was vicious. This predator mostly eats fish and scientists believed that it hunted both on land and in water. Spinosaurus is also known for its sail-like structure. This predator had long claws and teeth used for killing fish in the water and was believed that it had no competition when it came to hunting in water.
